How We Do It

Ask most people managers what training and support they have had in leadership, management and motivation skills and they will normally reply very little, if any at all. Most will say that when they first became managers they based their behaviour on doing the opposite of what they had experienced from those who had previously managed them!

People managers are too important to an organisation to leave these essential skills to chance. The impact of a manager performing well or under performing is significant to every organisation. The specific skills needed to be a manager are talked about extensively but how many truly understand how to be a good leader, motivator, coach and manager? It is a combination of all four of these elements that differentiate the poor from the average, the average from the good and the good from the outstanding. Very rarely do people have these four elements naturally and in the right balance. In the same way that professional sportsmen and women must continually be developing and improving the weaker areas of their game or individual discipline, managers in commercial and not for profit organisations must also keep honing their people skills.

That can be difficult to achieve when day to day activities make it seem impossible to find time for personal development. Sporting Difference recognises this and we offer programmes which minimise the time away from the workplace whilst ensuring that the managers take away many ideas and techniques that they can immediately put into practice. Our implementation packages mean that the training is carried into the workplace, and that they have support from us while they get used to the application of their new found skills. If you want to develop your managers, or if you are a sports club and would like to learn how our service can benefit you, then give us a call on 02392 007025. You can find out more from a few minutes conversation with us than can be found in several hours of searching the internet.
